How JAMPA takes the planning off your plate, answered.
Getting Started
What is Just Another Meal Planning App?
Just Another Meal Planning App (JAMPA) takes the thinking and planning out of your week. Tell us who's at the table, including what each person loves, can't eat, and needs. JAMPA builds the menu, the shopping list, and your prep and cooking guide, with portions sized for each person. Pick the meals yourself or start from ones we've picked. Either way, you just cook.
Who is it for?
Busy households where not everyone eats the same: a gluten-free spouse, a kid who won't touch onions, someone training for a race. Add as many family members as you like, each with their own profile. Up to five users can log in and share the planning.
Do I have to start from scratch?
Not unless you want to. Every household gets the JAMPA recipe library, and from it we hand-pick meals for planned weeks. Drop a planned week into a blank week as a starting point, then swap, move, or remove anything you like. Or skip it and build your own.
Do I have to log or count anything?
No. Food trackers make you work backwards from what you already ate. JAMPA works forwards: add a recipe and it works out the nutrition, the portions, and the shopping list for you.
Pricing & Plans
How much does it cost?
Every new household starts with a 14-day free trial. After that, JAMPA is a paid plan, billed monthly or yearly.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel any time from your billing settings, and you keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for. After that, your household becomes read-only: everything is still there to open and read, but you can't create, change, or export anything. Nothing is ever deleted, so if you come back, you pick up right where you left off.
Meals & Nutrition
Do I get to pick my meals?
Always. Your week is yours: start from one of our planned weeks, build your own, or mix the two. Add a recipe, move a meal to another day, or drop one that doesn't suit your week.
Can I use my own recipes?
Yes, and this is where JAMPA shines. Paste the text, type it in, scan it, or import it from a web address. JAMPA works out the nutrition and each person's portion, and adds the ingredients to your shopping list. Your family favorites, sized for everyone.
Want some ideas for this week?
See what we're cooking. Our Weekly Menu has the meals we've picked for this week, and it's updated every week.
How are portions sized?
Per person. In each profile, you choose how much that person needs at each meal and snack, by calories, macros, or servings. The eight-year-old and the marathoner can sit down to the same dinner with different-sized plates. You cook the right amount, so nothing goes to waste.
Do you show nutrition information?
Yes. Every recipe has a full nutrition label covering calories, protein, carbs, fat, and more. We leave out % Daily Value on purpose, because everyone's needs are different.
Can I plan around daily targets?
Yes. You'll see how much of each person's daily targets the plan covers.
Do you deliver food or groceries?
No. We don't sell groceries or run a delivery service. We do one job: plan your week, sized for your household. You shop and cook.
Dietary Needs
Are your recipes gluten-free and dairy-free?
Our own recipes all gluten and dairy-free, on purpose. It's much easier to add gluten and dairy back into a meal than to take them out. Let's face it, gluten and dairy are delicious; they just don't work for everyone. You can change any of our recipes or add your own.
Can JAMPA handle food allergies?
Yes. Add an allergy and how severe it is to a person's profile, and JAMPA plans around it. Likes and dislikes are honored wherever possible. JAMPA is a planning tool, not a medical service, so please keep reading ingredient labels, and talk to your doctor about severe allergies.
What if everyone at my table eats differently?
That's the point. JAMPA plans for the whole table at once. It works out which meals suit everyone, which need a small swap on one plate, and makes one shopping list for the week. The gluten-free dad and the kid who hates mushrooms can eat the same dinner.
What if someone's needs change?
Update their profile and regenerate. The recipes, portions, shopping list, and prep all recalculate, so you don't have to.
Is JAMPA medical or nutrition advice?
No. JAMPA doesn't replace your doctor, nutritionist, or a registered dietitian. If you have a medical condition or follow a specific nutrition plan, check with them first.
Your Weekly Plan
What do I get each week?
Three things: a weekly menu, a shopping list sorted by store section, and a prep and cooking guide, which puts this week's recipes and prep steps together in one place. Each person's portion are shown for every meal.
How does prep work?
Pick the style that fits your week: Sunday Slay, The Encore, Tag Team, or No Big Batch Energy. Each one sets which days you shop and which days you prep. In No Big Batch Energy, lunch is always the previous night's leftovers. If none of them fit your household, you can customize to fit your own meal prep schedule.
Can I print it or use it on my phone?
Yes to both. The shopping list lives in the app, where you can check items off as you shop, and it also downloads as a PDF.
What day does my week start?
Monday.
Your Household & Account
How many people can I add?
As many as sit at your table. There's no limit on household members, and each one gets their own profile with their own needs and portions. Up to five people in the household can have their own user login.
What's the difference between a family member and a login?
A family member is someone you plan meals for: the kids, a grandparent, anyone at the table. A login is someone who can open the app and help plan. You might plan for six people while only two of you ever log in.
